2/3 Clay Mugs

2/3 students began by creating a slab and then slip and scored the ends together to create a cylinder.  Students rolled out another slab to slip and score onto the bottom.

Students slip and scored handles on then learned how to build eyes from clay.

Then they added their own finishing touches.

No matter how many times I remind students to slip and score whenever joining two pieces of clay, there are always students who don’t listen.  Consequences for every choice!  The consequence for not slipping and scoring happens to be your face falling off.

Well faces on or off, the first batch is ready to be fired!
